Build Update
Big sigh of relief when the footings finally went in.
The brickies making good progress.
Those bloody boulders.
Everyone should have a go on a "Wacker" at least once in their lives!

Building Your Own Home, Or A Quick Way To Spend Loads Of Money!
It's been 5 months since we made the move to the country to build part 2 of the house. When we arrive the place looked like this, except the removalist's dumped all our furniture outside the studio instead of down at the shed! Anyway after a couple of months spent with first the building designer and then getting the revised plans through council we made a start.
We allowed 2 days for excavation.
Five days later and we are almost done!
Next it was on to the trees - several had to go to meet the fire regs.
More boulders uncovered while digging the footings.
The first concrete goes in...
and then the rains came. That was a couple of weeks ago now. We've made some progress since then so stay tuned for the next installment.

Guillotines
"Guillotines on the South Coast is a fairly exposed point break that has inconsistent surf. Summer in particular tends to be flat. Offshore winds blow from the south southwest. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the southeast. Best around mid tide. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Beware of rocks, locals and sharks."
